~ The Embed Feature and deviantMobile

Mon Aug 21, 2006, 11:49 PM
Aparently you cannot use the embed feature for your deviations if the deviantMobile feature is disabled.

I sent a helpdesk ticket about it and they said they are connected! :|

What kind of craziness is that!

I don't see how one has anything to do with the other!

If you are willing to let others post your artwork on any website they choose, why not be willing to let them throw it on their phone?

At any rate, IMO it is completely likely that they wanted to empower people to imbed art, and the easiest way to accomplish that was by modifying the deviantMOBILE system to allow it. I would imagine it might also be related to the bandwidth that imbedding uses, and if your artwork is available through deviantMOBILE then you are at least helping to encourage people to subscribe and pay for said bandwidth.

I don't see the big deal.

The only solution to the problem is patience. dA is having some teething-problems if you will and the staff are probably working overtime to fix all the new problems.

when you click a deviation, on the right side, under the details, there's an embed code, you can use it to display (embed) the deviation on your website through a flash interface.
